Public Consultation on Improving Local Stroke and TIA Services

People living in Sandwell and west Birmingham are being given the opportunity to have their say on the future of emergency care for stroke patients across the region.

A public consultation was launched 29 February 2012 and will run until 12 April 2012, giving people the chance to share their views during this time on the proposals to improve stroke services and those for patients who suffer a transient ischaemic attack (TIA), or mini stroke.

The plans - to provide a centre of excellence offering a round-the-clock specialist service – are aimed at reducing death rates and the disabling effects of stroke.
