A campaign to boost a Sandwell charity’s chances of winning social and health contracts has been supported by Warley MP John Spellar.

He gave the assurance during a visit to Smethwick-based Ideal for All which is a user-led organisation working for disabled people throughout the borough.

John Speller visits the beautiful Malthouse Garden adjacent to Ideal for All offices.

Ideal for All’s Chairperson Carol Goff told the MP: “We are working closely with the commissioners and elected members who understand the financial challenges faced by the voluntary sector”. She asked the MP for any support that he can extend to sustain and develop the services of Ideal for All which are a lifeline for vulnerable members of our society.

Carol further added “We are a user-led organisation and funding we secure from contracts is all spent in Sandwell and spent for the benefit of local people. Our work boosts Sandwell economy and saves the NHS many thousands of pounds”.

Mr Spellar heard this during a tour of the Ideal for All offices and adjacent Malthouse Garden.

During the MP’s visit, Ideal for All’s Deputy Executive Director Khatija Patel described the diverse range of services for disabled people developed by the 3,500-member organisation.

She explained that the charity was started in 1996 because disabled people in Sandwell felt services were “fragmented”.
