Friends of Special Library Services

Special Library Services are setting up a Friends Group so that our service users have a collective voice. We are looking for interested people who would be good ambassadors and who would have time to give to the group.

What are the aims for Special Library Services Friends Group?
To provide and enhance a local awareness of the services available on the Outreach Mobile Library and the Home Library Service
To support and promote library priorities
To develop an understanding and interest in the library service as a whole to ensure a full appreciation of the delivery of the service locally.


Activities may involve
Fund – raising
Representing users
Consultation
Promoting the service to the local community
Raise public interest through the media
Lobby local councillors on service issues

How often do the Friends Group meet?
The friends meet approximately 4 times per year plus an annual AGM some groups prefer to meet more frequently.

Where will the meetings be held?
As a borough wide service we're going to see where we get interest from. We may hold the meetings in different libraries around Sandwell.
