Ideal for All

Huge Turnout for DLA Reform Consultation

Over 250 people took part in Ideal for All’s consultation event on Disability Living Allowance reforms proposed by the government (see photograph above). People gave their views on a range of proposals including how people complete the forms, having two parts to the new allowance and whether there should be automatic entitlements for certain health conditions. The event was run in partnership with the Regional Disability Network. A report from the consultation event will be sent to the government and will be posted on this website in due course.

How Can You Have Your Say?

The government is running the consultation to get people’s views on its proposal to replace Disability Living Allowance (DLA) with a new benefit – the Personal Independence Payment. The government state that the Personal Independence Payment will continue to be a non-means tested, extra costs benefit and will help disabled people remove the barriers they face to leading full and independent lives.
