Extra £15 million for Access To Work scheme

Woman at workAccess to Work support is being made more widely available and funding is being increased to deliver enhanced outcomes for disabled people.

The Government has announced that an extra £15 million is available for Access to Work in this Spending Review period to help more disabled people to either enter work or retain their job.

We have extended Access to Work support to young disabled jobseekers taking part in work experience placements, through the Youth Contract.

Further work is being undertaken to modernise the service offering and delivery of Access to Work for example streamlining the application processes. We have accepted all of the Sayce recommendations on Access to Work and have been working with disabled people to get these right.

Through spending on individuals not institutions more disabled people can be supported to realise their aspirations.
