"Skills For Care" PA Training - Funding still available

PASkills For Care still have money available to help individual employers and personal assistants to access training.

Individual employers can apply for money from Skills for Care for themselves and their personal assistants which will cover level 2, 3 and 5 diplomas and support training in range of areas including:

  • Emergency first aid
  • Drug administration
  • Moving and assisting
  • Safe guarding
  • Professional boundaries
  • Food safety
  • Passenger Transport Assistants Training Scheme (PATS)

The money can also be used to help individual employers to broaden their skill base, be more confident in their role and carrying out supervisions and appraisals with their personal assistants. Additionally the money could be used for individual employers to pay training providers for tailored courses that are specific to their needs. An individual employer is someone who employs Personal Assistants (PAs) to provide care and support for themselves or a loved one.

You can apply for funding now. Grant funding will be allocated on a 'first come, first served' basis between now and 31 March 2013. Make sure you apply early so you don't miss out

I applied for funding for my PA training and found the whole application process easy to complete and have had a successful outcome from my application, I received £7049 for training.
The training has been used for Level 2 Level 2 Award in Communicating with Deaf blind People without sign language, Level 2 QCF Health & Social Care & a mixture of short courses. The wages for the PA are covered while training.
